Dr. Dog are quite the busy boys these days. They stopped by Late Night with Conan O’Brien last night to wow the crowd with The Old Days from the very anticipated Fate (Park The Van). Crystal Castles (Last Gang Records) will be supporting Nine Inch Nails to kick off their massive tour at the end of the month. Other openers for the rest of the tour include Deerhunter and Does It Offend You, Yeah? Trent Reznor seems to always do a good job when selecting support, but he really knocked it out of the park this time. Ghostly International, Toyota, and [adult swim] Team With Free MP3 Compilation

Ann Arbor, MI based avant-pop indie label Ghostly International has teamed up with two venerable brands, Toyota and Turner Broadcasting to release a free 19 song compilation available now on the [adult swim] site. All the songs on the compilation are brand new and feature artists such as new signings The Chap and Michna, stalwarts Ben Benjamin, Matthew Dear and Dabrye, and new friends Milosh and School of Seven Bells. Ghostly retains the recording and publishing rights to the music, and may choose to give it a physical release once Adult Swim’s two month exclusive is up. This compilation follows in a line of collaborations between [adult swim] and Definitive Jux and Stones Throw. “We’re quite excited about collaborations such as this,” said Ghostly Director of Publishing and Licensing, Jeremy Peters. “Partnering up with brands to release great new music in interesting ways, be it with a compilation like this, providing the soundtrack for a product release, or using our depth of catalog to provide the ambience for a film, a whole series worth of television, or video game is something we not only are willing, but are quite excited to do.” Go and download the free album here, and it’s available for license on you next project on HANK™ too!

Ten Music signs Last Gang Records

Fresh from SXSW, Ten Music is thrilled to announce the signing of Record Label Last Gang from Toronto, Canada.

Last Gang Records is a Canadian based record label formed by music industry attorney Chris Taylor. Since its formation in the fall of 2002, Last Gang has released recordings by Boys Noize, Chromeo, Crystal Castles, the now defunct Death From Above 1979, Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton, Metric, Mother Mother, The New Pornographers, Tiga, and local wunderkind Producers MSTRKRFT (pic above).
